The Danish Krone (DKK) is the official currency used in the Kingdom of Denmark, Faroe Islands, and Greenland. The Danish Currency is nicknamed the ‘Danish Crown’ in English, with the word Krone translated directly to English meaning crown.

  • Are Euros accepted in Denmark?

    Although some Danish merchants do accept payment with Euros, they are not obliged do so. If you want to be safe, be sure to buy Danish Krone before you travel.

  • Does Malmo use Danish Krone?

    Some merchants in Malmo may accept Danish Krone, however the exchange rate may not be weighted in your favour. If you intend to make a purchase in DKK cash, there may also be a chance that you will receive your change in Swedish Krona. If you are looking to visit Malmo, it may be wise to buy Swedish Krona before you set off.
