The euro replaced the Slovenian tolar as Slovenia’s official currency in 2007.
The Slovenian tolar was circulated in Slovenia between 1991 and 2007.
Slovenia joined the European Union in 2004 and the Eurozone in 2007.
The most commonly- used bills for the euro are the 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 notes; and 1 euro is divided into 100 cents.
