The Samoan tala has performed well the last few years, particularly when compared with 2011 to 2013 when the AUD to WST exchange rate peaked at around 1 AUD to 2.56 WST on 16 April 2011.
Between 11 June 2014 and 20 December 2014 the AUD WST exchange rate improved from around 2.19 to 1.98 WST per AUD.3
By late January 2016, a year later, 1 AUD was buying around 2.02 WST and by early December of the same year that figure had stayed stable, with 1 AUD buying around 1.86 WST.3
In the past 5 years, the WST has fluctuated between 1 AUD to 2.20 WST on 12 June 2014 to 1 AUD to 1.77 WST on 16 January 2016.3
